Why Is This Important?

How Are We Doing?

Approximately 100 children ages 5-14 years die in New Jersey each year. The leading causes of death among children aged 5-14 years are cancer, unintentional injury, and birth defects.

How Do We Compare With the U.S.?

The death rate among New Jersey residents aged 5-14 years is consistently lower than the national rate.
