Why Is This Important?

Although there is no cure for HIV infection, there are treatment options that can help people living with HIV experience long and productive lives.[http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/basics/livingwithhiv/treatment.html ^1^]

Healthy People Objective: Increase the proportion of HIV-infected adolescents and adults who receive HIV care and treatment consistent with current standards

U.S. Target: Archived and replaced with HIV indicators that reflect scientific advances related to the HIV care continuum.
State Target: 65 percent

'''Healthy New Jersey 2020 Objective HIV-2''': Increase the proportion of HIV-infected adolescents and adults who receive HIV care and treatment consistent with current standards to 65% among the total population, 67% among Whites and Blacks, and 60% among Hispanics.
