Health Indicator Report of End-Stage Renal Disease Incidence

Kidney failure treated with dialysis or a kidney transplant is called end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Diabetes and high blood pressure are the main causes of ESRD.[https://www.cdc.gov/kidneydisease/publications-resources/annual-report/ckd-related-health-problems.html ^1^]

Notes

Data for White, Black, and Asian include Hispanics. Definition: New cases of ESRD per 100,000 population (all ages). Numerator: New cases of ESRD. Denominator: Total population.

How Are We Doing?

The Healthy New Jersey 2020 Objective CKD-3 target for the Black population aged 18 years and older was achieved. No other targets for CKD-2 or CKD-3 were met.
