Health Indicator Report of Deaths among Children 1-4 Years Old
The deaths of children present a public health concern and an opportunity for prevention. The leading cause of death for children of all ages is injury. These deaths are, for the most part, preventable.
Notes
Data for White and Black do not include Hispanics. Hispanic ethnicity includes persons of any race. The number of deaths among Asians is too small to calculate a reliable rate. Numerator: Total number of race/ethnicity-specific deaths among persons aged 1-4 years. Denominator: Number of race/ethnicity-specific persons aged 1-4 years in the population.Data Sources
