Query Builder for NJ Provisional Death Data Query - Count

About this dataset

THE DATA IN THIS QUERY MODULE ARE NOT FINALIZED. They come from the New Jersey Death Certificate database which consists of in-state deaths submitted to the New Jersey Department of Health, Office of Vital Statistics and Registry via the Electronic Death Reporting System (EDRS) and out-of-state deaths submitted to the New Jersey Department of Health via the State and Territorial Exchange of Vital Events (STEVE). All data shown are for New Jersey residents regardless of where the death occurred. IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to a change in population estimation methodology at the U.S. Census Bureau, rates for 2020 and later are not directly comparable to rates from before 2020. After 2010-2020 intercensal estimates are released by the Census Bureau in late 2024, all rates will be recalculated to enable trend analysis.
