Data Grouped By: | Year |
The total fertility rate is the sum of the age-specific birth rates of women in five-year age groups
multiplied by five. This rate estimates the number of children a cohort of 1,000 women would bear if they
all went through their childbearing years exposed to the same age-specific birth rates in effect for a
particular time.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to a change in population estimation methodology at the U.S. Census Bureau, rates for 2020 and later are not directly comparable to rates from before 2020. After 2010-2020 intercensal estimates are released by the Census Bureau in late 2024, all rates will be recalculated to enable trend analysis.
