Why Is This Important?

How the Measure is Calculated
| Numerator: | Number of new HIV infections among persons aged 13 years and over |
| Denominator: | Total number of persons aged 13 years and over in the population |
How Are We Doing?
The Healthy New Jersey 2020 targets for the total population and for Blacks were achieved before 2020. Targets for Whites, Hispanics, and other racial/ethnic groups were achieved in 2020 but 2020 data should be interpreted with caution due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on access to HIV testing, care related services, and changes in testing modality (e.g., self-testing).
