How Are We Doing?

In 2015, four community colleges (Morris, Middlesex, Brookdale, and Mercer) began offering A.S. degrees in public health, thus achieving the original Healthy NJ 2020 target of 20%. The target was revised to 25% in 2016. In 2017, Passaic Community College became the fifth to offer an A.S. in public health. The national public health accreditation program launched in 2011. In 2015, Bloomfield Department of Health & Human Services was the first New Jersey local health department to achieve accreditation from the Public Health Accreditation Board. In 2017, Camden County Health Department became the second and, in 2018, Princeton Health Department became the third to achieve accreditation. Montgomery Township Health Department received accreditation in 2020. More recently, Jersey Shore Regional Health Commission (formerly Monmouth County Regional Health Commission #1) was accredited in 2022 and Clifton Health Department in 2023.
